Whitstable Oyster Festival 2007
Proudly protective of its past while constantly evolving with the times', words that describe both Whitstable and its annual Oyster Festival, to which they warmly welcome visitors and residents alike.
This year the Festival has been organised in part by the newly formed Whitstable Oyster Festival Association (WOFA), made up of local residents committed to returning the Festival to its independent roots within the Whitstable community.

Initially a bi-annual occasion it began in the early 1990’s & has since grown to become well established & respected bringing in 1000’s of visitors from far & wide

22 July
The X Pilot went out on Thursday the 19th from Whitstable harbour at 1.30 with 12 people and 2 crew on board. Amongst the passengers was a crew from Meridian TV which is the local TV station for the Southeast of England and legendary Radio Essex (Knock John Fort) broadcaster Dick Palmer, also known from Radio Caroline back in the 70’s. Also water and food supplies for the people working on the fort. This afternoon we are listening to Tony Christian a DJ also know from Radio Caroline.
