Breaking Bands

Red Sands Radio wants to play local music on their first of hopefully many planned broadcasts from the old wartime forts of the Kent coast.

Programme Director Bob Le Roi said, “During my years on local radio we exposed many bands”. “A song competition spawned over 150 demo tapes, CD’s & even cassettes from incredibly talented songwriters & musicians”

“With a healthy resurgence in home grown music, bands & performers are itching to have their work heard by a wider audience, yet incredibly local radio won’t play it!”

“Local Radio has lost its way & just plays lip service to being local when localness is a major potential audience builder”

“Even though we’re out at sea, we’re having to do what made the original Pirate Radio stations famous, playing music no one else would touch”

If you’re a solo musician in a band send your demos to: Red Sands Radio PO Box 299, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 2YA

Red Sands Radio comes “On Air” from the Red sands Fort once home to Pirate radio of the 1960’s on 14th July 2007 For more information telephone 07961 601 893
