The new Tower of Power on 235mmw
The call sign of Radio City that Broadcast from the old Army Forts off the North Kent Coast promises to return in the form of a new Tower of Power.
The Marine Etc Broadcasting Offences Act of 1967 outlawed the original Radio Pirates & made it illegal for British subjects to work or supply the Offshore Radio Stations.
Radio Caroline battled on spasmodically until outlawed by the sea Act of 1990.
With its antenna’s designed by Peter Chicago once Chief Engineer on Radio Caroline & now with a respected transmitter company. Red Sands Radio is a licensed local radio station, but with only a fraction of the transmitter power of the original Pirates.
Said Peter “Even though constrained things have changed technically since the early Pirates, we’ve a highly efficient antenna so the new Tower of Power will be readily heard over our target area”
With the “Best of Yesterday & Today” & some interesting documentaries & programmes from the original stations Red Sands radio brings something different to the air.
Radio Red Sands launches on 14th July 2007 on 1278 kHz that’s a wavelength of 235 metres
